| Micro planning: |
 LAVS undertook micro planning activities in 15 no. of villages of Bhawanipatna block of Kalahandi district. The programme was supported by the World Food Programme. This was essentially to identify livelihood opportunities for the tribal people.
Major thrust of the programme:
Formation & promotion of SHG & Farmers Group, Training on group management & Income generation activities, support for income generation activities, plantation. |

| Environment Education for School Children |
 LAVS executed a Environment education project in 5 Schools in Kalahandi District, supported by the Ministry of Human Resources Development, Govt. of India, through PRATIVESH, the nodal agency . The major objective of this programme is to strengthen Environmental Education in the School System Under the Eco-Club Programme such activities as school level Eco-Competitions (Debate, Quiz & Paint), Inter-school Eco-Competitions, Institutional Plantation, Training to the school teachers and Lecturers on Environmental topics were carried out involving students of the concerned schools. To spread the message of environment protection among the communities, an Eco-March by the students of different schools, was held which marched in the village by holding banners and chanting environmental slogans. |

| Plantation |
Supported by the National Afforestation & Eco-Development Board, Govt. of India, LAVS has planted 55000 saplings in 50 hectors of fallow land. Quality Planting Materials (QPM) was used for the plantation which have more than 90% survival rate. The focus of the activity was to generate a public awareness against deforestation and elicit community participation in protecting the Afforestation. |
